About Capitol Enquiry
Capitol Enquiry was founded by Ruth Pritchard in 1973. The business initially published the annual Pocket Directory of the California Legislature, but has grown to include an expanded product line and to serve additional states.
The original Pocket Directory, the first of several Capitol Enquiry publications, is now used by thousands and considered indispensable by lobbyists and others seriously working with the Legislature.
In 2000 the company passed to the second generation when Bruce Campbell and his wife Michele Merin took over the company from his mother, Ruth. By that time, Michele had already launched Pocket Directories of the New York and Pennsylvania Legislatures separately, and been publishing them for 10 years.
In 2008 Capitol Enquiry launched an exciting new GovBuddy web access product ushering in the digital age for the business.
Bruce and Michele continue to manage the company, but have now been joined by their son, Lane Campbell, the third generation involved in this family business.
